We had the first day of the conference yesterday. In the afternoon group of us walked down

into the village of Les Houches to have a look around and have some hot chocolate. Fiona's

big jacket that I borrowed and my thermals have come in very handy so far. There is two to

three feet of snow everywhere, the temperature has been between zero and -10 degrees, very

cold if you are outside.
